A comunidade sikh em 1927


Photograph depicts the Sikh Sangat of Macao with Chinese wives and children. The Sikh men in uniform have hand colouring applied to their turbans in the form of three green stripes. 
There are inscriptions in Punjabi along the bottom of the photograph and a stamp applied to the top from which the photograph title was derived. 
A translation of the Punjabi text is as follows: "This is a picture of the Sikh Sangat of Macau. Some of the Sikhs are sitting along with their Chinese Sikh wives and children."
The photo was donated to the Library by Barj Dhahan, co-founder of the Canadian Indian Education Society in 2013 to University of British Columbia Library.
Fotografia dos Sikh Sangat de Macau (13 Março 1927) com suas mulheres e crianças chinesas. Os homens sikhs estão de uniforme e turbante com três listas verdes. Existem inscrições em panjabi no rodapé da fotografia e ainda um carimbo no topo com a inscrição Khai Sa Dwan - Macao China.
Tradução do texto Punjabi: "Este é um retrato dos Sikh Sangat de Macau. Alguns dos Sikhs estão sentados junto com suas esposas e filhos chineses."
A foto foi doada em 2013 à Biblioteca da Universidade da British Columbia por Barj Dhahan, co-fundador da Canadian Indian Education Society.
